Montana UGBEP 2011 Draft Strategic Plan

The Montana Upland Game Bird Enhancement Program now has a draft strategic plan, thanks to the tremendous efforts of the 12-member Citizens’ Advisory Council (and one of the 12 is Gordon Haugen – a Bozeman resident and member of our Gallatin Valley PF chapter).

This past March 2011, the Council’s recommendations were presented to FWP Director Joe Maurier.  Last week, the FWP Commission gave their tentative approval on the draft strategic plan.  At this time, FWP is seeking public comment on the plan.  The public comment period runs until Monday, June 6 (up to 5 PM).  Any final adoptions will take place at the July 14, 2011, FWP Commission meeting.

In addition to the plan, there is information on the various ways you may provide your comments to FWP.  Please note that a public meeting will be held in all FWP administrative regions on Wednesday, May 18th, at 7 PM to 9 PM (our Region 3 office is located at 1400 South 19th, Bozeman).  During these meetings, there will be opportunities to meet the Council members who live in the area, learn the highlights of the plan, as well as provide public comment.
